How does Whatsapp status update work?
First of all you need to know how you can update it. Then we will let you know about deleting your Whatsapp status update manually, and how to forward multiple status updates to a chat. You can also mute and unmute a Whatsapp status update.
Update your status on Whatsapp
To create a status first you should open the application and then tap the camera icon on the top left. Now you can take a photo or record a video or select one from your device’s gallery. Next, you can add a caption if you want. Finally select My Status foe a Whatsapp status update. It’s also possible to send it to a contact.
Delete Whatsapp status update manually

Keep in mind that a status update will automatically be deleted after 24 hours. However, if you would like to delete it manually for some reason you need to go to the Status screen first. Then choose the three dots next to My status and then tap and hold your status update. Finally select Trash and then delete.
- If you delete your status you contacts will not be able to see it anymore.

If you want to forward a status to your contacts simply follow the steps bellow:
- Open the application.
- Go to the Status screen.
- Choose the three dots next to My status.
- Tap Forward right Next to the status update you wish to forward.
- Finally you can select people from Frequently contacted, Recent chats, Other contacts or use Search to find a contact or group, then select Send .
Or you can follow these steps to forward multiple status updates to a chat:
- Open the Status screen.
- Choose the three dots next to My status.
- Tap and hold a status update you would like to forward then tap Forward in the top-right corner of your screen.
- Select people from Frequently contacted, Recent chats, Other contacts or use Search to look for a contact or group, then tap Send .
Mute/unmute Whatsapp status update
If you don’t want to be notified when a particular person updates their status you ca simply mute them. In order to do so first, go to the status screen and then tap and hold their status. Next tap on Mute button.
To unmute a status
Open the status screen and then scroll down to see the muted items. Tap and hold them. Finally select Unmute Button.
