What is Telegram Passport and how does it work?
Telegram Passport is an end-to-end encrypted service which allows users to store their real-world IDs to make it easier for them to share these information with apps and services that require them.
Telegram password allows you to store your IDs like driving licence, passport, personal ID proof, address ID, phone number, and email address and protect them with end-to-end encryption on Telegram cloud services and in the future, this data will be moved to a decentralised cloud.
This feature is now available on Telegram version 4.9 on both Android and iOS operating systems. Much like messages sent and received via Telegram, This application claims that they do not have access to users’ ID information as it is all protected by end-to-end encryption.
The process to use this feature is rather simple. You upload your IDs and then share it with services that require them (finance, ICOs, etc.).
Is Telegram Passport secure?
Telegram is an application with focus on speed and security and all Telegram features are based on this. The Passport feature of Telegram is also no exception. All your personal data and identification documents are secured with end-to-end encryption on Telegram cloud servers.
