Few days ago, WhatsApp website announced that in it’s application will be indicates which messages have been forwarded. This newly added feature, helps making point to point and group chats easier to follow. Of course this isn’t a dedicated feature that have been added to this application but we can just be happy of it 🙂
To use this feature and determine if your friend or relative wrote the messages they sent or if it originally came from someone else, you have to install the latest version of WhatsApp application on your device. If you need latest of WhatsApp on your desktop you can download it from our website.
In it’s blog page, WhatsApp encourages you to think before sharing messages that were forwarded. And it reminds you that you can report spam or block a contact in one tap.
Before the “Forwarded” label started rolling out, WhatsApp was testing this feature in India and Brazil. Between these two countries, over 300 million people use this application, according to The Verge. And WhatsApp has been linked to malicious use of fake news in both of those countries.
Several lynchings in India have occurred due to fake news spreading on WhatsApp. So the Indian government has requested Facebook to take action about it. Facebook is now running ads in local news papers in India with suggestions about how to detect fake news.
