Instagram archive Story feature was introduced in version 25 update on Android and iOS devices. By this Instagram users would not have to save shared Stories to view it later or create highlights if they want, Stories would be archived on Instagram social network if you want it. How to disable Instagram Stories archive?

If you disable the feature you would not have to delete Instagram archive later. So in case you feel you do not need the feature at all you have the choice to disable it totally.
It is straight forward to disable automatic archive through the archive section on the app. Follow the steps below to do so.
- Install the latest version of Instagram and login to your account.
- Go to your profile tab.
- Tap on the clock-arrow archive icon at the top on the screens to view the archives.

How to delete Instagram archive?

While disabling automatic archive will not delete the currently saved Stories you have to delete them manually. However you are not able to delete multiple archived Story at once and you have to do it one by one. To delete a story from your Instagram Stories Archive follow the steps below.
- Install the latest version of Instagram on your device.
- Go to your profile tab and tap the clock icon at the top of the screen to go to archive section.
- At the top of the screen tap on Archive and switch to Story archive.
- Choose the story you want to delete and tap on it.
- Tap the three dot icon at the top of the Story screen.
- Tap Delete, then tap Delete again to confirm.
Keep in mind that if you had add the archived Story to your Instagram highlights, the specific Story highlight would be removed.
