How to ring your phone on silent or vibrate mode
You can make your phone ring using ‘Android device manager’ even if it is on silent or vibrate mode.
The first thing you need to do is to visit ‘https://google.com/android/devicemanager’ and login to your Google account which associated with your lost phone.
You can now see a map and on the top left corner of the screen, you can see the Ring button. Click on it and you will see a message saying that your phone will ring at the highest volume. You phone will start to ring for 5 minutes unless you find it and press the button to stop it.
This feature is specifically handy if you have lost your phone somewhere around the house and your phone is on Silent mode.
How to lock the screen of a missing Android phone
If you couldn’t find your Android phone using the ‘Ring’ feature, chances are you have lost it somewhere and you need to make sure your data is safe.
Tap on the Lock button (you can find it next to the Ring button) to prevent any unauthorized access to your device. By clicking on the ‘Lock’ you will receive a message asking you to enter a password, a message, and a phone number.
This feature allows you to lock your phone and also arrange to get it back in case someone finds your phone.
How to erase all of your data on a lost device with Android Device Manager
If the ‘Ring’ or ‘Lock’ feature hasn’t helped you to find your lost phone, you may need to erase all your data before it falls to the wrong hands.
When you lose your phone the worst case scenario is that you can’t find it. But erasing your phone gives you the ability to protect your data at least. If you have decided to do so, you need to tap on the ‘Erase’ (next to Ring and Lock) button. You will receive a message saying that your phone will reset to factory settings.
Even if you have erased your phone, make sure to reset all the password to the accounts which were synced on your lost device.
